Pike’s Peak Chapter wins
Sportsman’s Warehouse 7th Annual Chili Cook-off
The Sportsman’s Warehouse store in
Colorado Springs hosted its 7th annual chili cook-off
on Saturday, 30 June. The Pikes Peak chapter competed against
local chapters from the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Mule Deer
Foundation, Safari Club International, Duck Unlimited and the
National Rifle Association.
Pike’s Peak chapter chairman Willie
Kalaskie and members Rob D’Isidori and Craig Fink carried the
NWTF banner at this annual event and, at the end of the
afternoon, it was Rob D’Isidori’s remarkable elk-based chili
that took first place! Each bite of his chili started off with
a sweet foundation, and “finished off” with a nice “kick Rob’s
chili beat the other five competitors by an almost two-to-one
The Pike’s Peak chapter was also able to
raffle off a Weatherby 12 ga pump shotgun with camo stock and
sling, thereby allowing the chapter to liaison with the
community and spread the NWTF mission and goals of the NWTF.
All-in-all, the chili cook-off was a fun
time for all and great opportunity to spread the NWTF message.
